BASIC CLANDESTINE LABORATORY / BASIC SITE SAFETY CERTIFICATION COURSE 40 HRS
This innovative course includes the various methods of manufacturing methamphetamine, detailing the latest trends which are being discovered nationwide.
Site Safety Officer responsibilities and procedures are covered in detail. Group exercises are an important part of this Innovative program with a focus on Site Safety and Site Control.
Our instructors have the combined experience in working over 1,000 clandestine labs.
Instructor Gary Schell covers the dangers associated with each method, the variety of chemicals used and the appropriate personal protection equipment required for each event in detail.
Innovative evidence collection procedures, sampling techniques, and state of the art processing equipment are shared with investigators during the class room and hands on portions of this course.
Maintaining safety for all officers in clan lab enforcement and processing is the main objective.
Instructor Brian Atkinson covers the air monitoring, confined space and haz-mat portion with many group exercises and a team approach.
The proper use of air purifying respirators, self- contained breathing apparatus' and ventilation techniques are covered with hands on training, including practical exercises.
Instructor Larry Plotkin presents the Technical Surveillance portion of our program. This Surveillance portion gives all narcotic investigators a basic understanding of some of the u/c equipment that investigators often use during their routine investigations including utility (pole) cameras, body wires and many other small u/c type devices.
Mock Clan Labs are on display to train investigators to recognize various types of clan labs including red phosphorus, anhydrous ammonia and shake and bake.
The identification, separation and containerizing of various clan lab chemicals is discussed in detail.
Investigative techniques utilizing Methcheck and making Smurfer cases are included as part of this innovative curriculum.
Investigators are able to assess a mock clandestine laboratory where training can be put to work. Many other practical exercises will be performed.
This course includes all of the mandated OSHA required subject matter for Basic Clandestine Laboratory/Site Safety certification and much more.
